Sweden approves 72 MW Lillgrund offshore plans

Sweden's government announced its approval of Eurowind's long planned 72 MW Örestads Vindkraftpark, to be built at Lillgrund in the sound between Sweden and Denmark, late last month. Construction of the plant, to consist of 48 Enercon E-66 wind turbines, is scheduled to start early next year with the first delivered kilowatt hours some nine months later. Completion is expected within the year. Eurowind, which has long worked on the project, is owned 50% by Fred Olsen Renewables. Fred Olsen, a shipping line, is indirectly owned by Ganger Rolf and Bonheur, both listed on Oslo's stock exchange.
