Toyota Tsusho secures turbines for sale in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan

Japan's Toyota Tsusho Corporation has ordered 112 turbines from Vestas for 225 MW of wind plant to be built in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The 81, 2 MW units and 31, 3 MW machines will be used across nine projects, with installation to start this summer and continuing through 2008. Toyota Tsusho's Morimasa Konishi says two of the Japan projects will definitely use the 3 MW machines, but placement of the other turbines is yet to be decided. The relationship between Vestas and Toyota Tsusho goes back six years, but this latest order marks the first time Vestas is supplying turbines to the company for outside Japan.
