Tymien 50 MW plant now online

The 50 MW Tymien wind farm on the Polish Baltic coast was commissioned in April, making it the largest wind project in eastern and central Europe. Comprising 25 Vestas 2 MW machines, it was developed by Polish company EEZ. British firm REG Power Management, whose shareholders comprise mainly financial institutions, is a major investor in the project, which is its first outside the UK. REG says Tymien represents "an important milestone" and is "a significant project for the Polish electric power industry, which is overwhelmingly focused on coal-fired generation."
