First sale of DeWind turbines

California's Composite Technology Corporation, owner of the German DeWind line of wind turbines, has broken into the Canadian wind energy market with an agreement to supply ten DeWind 2 MW turbines to Energy Farming Ontario LLC. The turbines are an advanced version of the company's standard model, with a 90-metre rotor for greater energy capture. Serial production of the machine is to start in the second half of 2009, with delivery of nacelles and blades to Ontario at the end of the year. Energy Farming Ontario, formed in 2007, is part of Germany's Seeba-Energy Farming Group. It plans to install the DeWind turbines on 105-metre lattice towers designed and built by Seeba, a specialist in tall tower technology (“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, October 2006).
