Subsidies for old and badly sited wind turbines
Owners of old or badly sited wind turbines can in the next three years receive a government subsidy of 15% of the old turbine's value, up to a maximum of DKK 200,000, if they replace it with a newer model or invest in a new project on another site. The subsidy is to encourage a better use of windy sites in Denmark which are often occupied by old or too few wind turbines. The wind lobby doubts, however, that the subsidy will result in more than 130 new turbines a year.
