Moncada orders 98 MW from Gamesa for Sicily

Italian wind developer Moncada Energy Group has ordered Gamesa 2 MW turbines for two wind farms with a combined capacity of 98 MW that it is building on the island of Sicily. The turbines are for delivery this year and will be used on Moncada's 40 MW Cattolica wind farm and a 58 MW facility in Lercara. Moncada currently operates five wind farms, all in Sicily, with total capacity of 105.3 MW. Gamesa reports that 745 MW of its technology is operating in Italy and it expects to double that in the next four years.
