News of the UK government's proposal to significantly improve returns for offshore wind power investors has boosted industry spirits. Several projects waiting in the wings may now forge ahead. Germany, too, is at last moving forward and will bring a 30 MW test project on line next year using 5 MW turbines in 30 metres of water, deeper than most installations and further out to sea.
