KK Wind Solutions has opened a new factory and offices in southern India.
The Danish wind turbine technology specialist said today (14 May) it had officially inaugurated the new manufacturing plant and company offices in Bengaluru in the southern state of Karnataka as part of a “long-term commitment” to supporting renewable energy development in India.
KK Wind Solutions is based in Denmark and specialises in making power converters and controls for wind turbines.
The company said its factory in Bengaluru would be the multinational’s largest in Asia and employ up to 400 people. Its new office in the city will additionally employ around 150 people, it added.
“India is an increasingly important hub in the global wind energy value chain, and Bengaluru was the clear obvious choice for our expansion in India. The city has renowned universities and technical institutes, and a large talent pool of engineering professionals,” said Mauricio Quintana, CEO of KK Wind Solutions.
India aims to have 100GW of wind power capacity installed by 2030. It had just over 50GW installed at the end of March 2025, according to the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association.
