Wind turbine maker Nordex names first chief commercial officer

Nordex has appointed its first chief commercial officer (CCO) after creating the role at the company for the first time.

The German wind turbine manufacturer said today (12 May) it had appointed Ibrahim Oezarslan to the position, who officially took on the role on 1 May.

Nordex previously negated having a formal CCO position unlike many rival multinational firms by subsuming associated duties within other executive roles at the company such as chief sales officer.

Oezarslan’s appointment to the new position means he will now oversee all global sales and “project execution activities” at Nordex, and report directly to the CEO José Luis Blanco.

Oezarslan previously served as Nordex’s CEO for its Europe division for four years, and prior to this was head of sales for Europe at Nordex between 2018 and 2021.

“Ibrahim’s more than 25 years of experience at Nordex, most of them in various customer-facing management positions, his impressive track-record and his deep understanding of the industry across functions and regions, will provide invaluable support as we continue to grow our business,” CEO Blanco said.
