Repsol starts production at its largest wind farm in Chile

Repsol has started producing electricity at the 364MW Antofagasta Phase 1 wind farm in Chile, which is its largest wind project in the country. 

Located in Taltal, in the Antofagasta region, the wind farm is set to enter commercial operation in the next few weeks, Repsol said. The Spanish oil major also announced it plans to begin construction on phase 2 of the wind farm in the same region, which is set to have 450MW capacity.

The phase 1 wind farm marks an investment of nearly €400 million. It was built in 19 months and is set to produce 750GW/h annually.
