Hellenic Cables has handed Axess Technologies a cable installation contract for the Ostwind 3 grid connection project being developed by 50Hertz in the German Baltic Sea.
The scope of work encompasses planning and pulling internal platform cables into the offshore high-voltage (HV) substation, covering both 66kV and 220kV cable systems.
The engineering phase is already under way, with the execution phase scheduled to begin in Q2 2025 at HSM’s Stormpolder yard in the Netherlands.
“This project is fully aligned with our strategy to become a turnkey supplier for HV cable pull-ins, terminations and testing within the wind industry,” said Erik Wold Aalde, director of renewables at Axess Technologies.
Due to be completed in 2026, Ostwind 3 will connect Iberdrola’s 315MW Windanker wind farm to the German extra-high voltage transmission grid.
