GE Vernova wins wind turbine supply deals in Japan

GE Vernova has secured deals to supply turbines for two wind farms in the north of Japan’s main island of Honshu.

It will provide 14 of its 4.2MW-117-metre turbines to Eurus Energy through a deal signed in the fourth quarter of 2024, with five turbines going to the 19.25MW Shitsukari wind farm and nine to the 32.5MW Iwaya project.

Both projects are expected to start commercial operations in 2028.

GE Vernova has supplied turbines for just over 1.2GW of operational onshore wind capacity in Japan, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç. It has secured turbine orders for a further 2.8GW of capacity in Japan.
