Mexico’s state electricity firm Comision Federal de Electricidad has not yet explained the cause of the fire, which some local people blamed on overheating.
Launched in 2011, La Venta III consists of 120 Siemens Gamesa G52-850 turbines. Iberdrola sold the assets to investment fund MIP in a deal backed by the Mexican state.
