Invenergy eyes O&M opportunity with deal for Brazilian wind power clusters

Brazilian investment fund Patria Investments and US renewables developer Invenergy have agreed to acquire a portfolio of wind power complexes in Brazil from Contour Global and state power firm Eletrobras.

The portfolio consists of four projects – Asa Branca, Chapada I, Chapada II and Chapada III, located in the northern states of Piauí and Rio Grande do Norte – with 600MW of installed capacity.

Patria will own 90% of the portfolio, while Invenergy will own 10% and provide wind turbine operation and maintenance services.

“This first-of-its-kind transaction for Invenergy Services in Brazil expands our O&M portfolio of managed assets and makes Invenergy an owner of installed wind capacity in the country for the first time,” said Steve Dowdy, executive vice president at Invenergy.
