Power firm Colbun has agreed to buy renewables firm Inversiones Latin America Power (ILAP), including two wind farms totalling almost 250MW of installed capacity.
Santiago-listed Colbun will pay $401 million for ILAP. The company completed a major restructuring earlier this year after the lack of transmission capacity left it struggling to make debt payments.
The 193.2MW San Juan and 64.8MW Totoral wind farms are both located in the northern region of Coquimbo and began operations in 2017.
Colbun already operates a solar and battery storage facility and is completing construction of the 816MW Horizonte project, which will be Chile's largest wind farm when it begins operating later this year.
