Pattern Energy Group has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 150MW wind project in Quebec, Canada.
The 30-year PPA for the Broughton Wind project is with utility Hydro-Quebec, which had selected the project in a tender earlier this year.
Located in the Chaudiere-Appalaches region of Quebec, construction is to begin in 2028, with commissioning expected in 2029.
The C$500 million (US$363.5 million) project is being developed in a 50:50 partnership with community groups and First Nations tribes, including the MRC des Appalaches, MRC de l’Érable, Conseil des Abenakis d’Odanak, and Conseil des Abenakis de Wolinak.
“With 11 facilities and counting, Pattern is leading Canada’s renewable energy industry, building new ties with our indigenous partners and supporting local communities,” said Hunter Armistead, CEO of Pattern Energy..
