GE Vernova signs wind farm pact to help Ukrainian recovery

US turbine maker GE Vernova has signed a deal to work with Ukrainian utility DTEK on new wind farms and related grid infrastructure in the war-torn country.

The partners also plan to collaborate on broader grid solutions to make power supply more reliable, power generation projects such as open cycle gas turbines, and long-term power generation solutions such as combined-cycle gas turbines.

The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin today (12 June).

DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko said: “Together our two companies can play a pivotal role in the urgent task of restoring Ukraine’s energy infrastructure today, while also creating a clean and resilient energy system for the future.”

GE Vernova has installed 430MW of operational wind turbines in Ukraine to date, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç.
