Deutsche Windtechnik enters Belgian wind turbine service market

Wind turbine maintenance company Deutsche Windtechnik has entered the Belgian wind power market.

It has established a new Belgian business unit with headquarters in Hasselt and plans to set up service hubs across the country.

Deutsche Windtechnik has also secured its first contract in the country: a deal to maintain 15 of Vestas’ V80 turbines installed across multiple locations in Belgium.

It will initially focus on onshore maintenance, but has also received initial inquiries about offshore services, it stated.

Geert Timmers, managing director of Deutsche Windtechnik's Netherlands location, will oversee the operations of the new Belgian unit. He said: “Up until now, turbine manufacturers have dominated the service market in Belgium. Deutsche Windtechnik's flexible range of services will open the Belgian market.”
