Aspiravi Offshore, part of Belgium’s Aspiravi Group, has exercised its contractual rights to acquire Parkwind’s 30% stake in the 216MW Northwind offshore wind farm, taking its total share to 70%. Sumitomo Corporation continues to hold the remaining 30% share in the project.
Northwind has been operating in the Belgian waters of the North Sea on the Lodewijk Bank since 2014. Aspriavi is an original founder of the 72-turbine project. It decided to exercise its rights to aqcuire the latest shares after Parkwind was sold to Japan's Jera Green in summer 2023.
