Ørsted board members nominate new chair for Danish renewables major

Ørsted board members have nominated Lene Skole as the Danish renewables major’s new chair ahead of its next general meeting next month.

If elected, Skole – who has served as deputy chair since 2015, and is currently managing director of the Lundbeck Foundation, a Danish fund for healthcare science research – would replace the outgoing Thomas Thune Andersen.

Andersen has decided not to seek re-election ahead of Ørsted’s general meeting on 5 March.

The board has also nominated Andrew Brown – a board member since 2023 and former CEO of Portuguese utility Galp – as new deputy chair. Brown is also currently serving as Ørsted’s group operations director on an interim basis, and is due to resign this post at the end of March.

The board also proposes that Annica Bresky, Julia King, Peter Korsholm and Dieter Wemmer be re-elected as board members.
