Canadian energy firm Enbridge has confirmed that its 497MW Fécamp wind farm off the coast of Normany is due to start commercial operations in the coming months.
First power was delivered in July 2023 and installation of the 71 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines is nearing completion, with 50 of them now in place at the English Channel project site near Dieppe.
Meanwhile, the 480MW Saint-Nazaire project – that Enbridge co-owns alongside French utility EDF Renewables – has resumed full operations, following a two-months maintenance programme.
Fishermen launched an unsuccessful lawsuit against the two wind farms in 2019 after claiming they would be environmentally damaging.
