Ilmatar has confirmed that all 36 of Vestas’ V162-6.0 MW turbines at its hybrid energy park in Alajärvi, South Ostrobothnia began commercial operations just before Christmas 2023.
Together, they have a combined capacity of 221MW and will deliver around 587GWh annually.
Developed in conjunction with Kansai Electric Power, the wind farm forms part of what will become a 370MW hybrid complex, where Ilmatar is planning to add solar and energy storage capacity.
Ilmatar Energy CEO Juha-Pekka Weckström said the wind farm’s completion was “the first step in our project that will become one of the first hybrid parks in Finland.”
