CrossWind has announced that the 759MW Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm became operational today (20 December).
Lying in the Dutch North Sea, 18.5km off Egmond aan Zee, the subsidy-free Shell-Eneco joint venture's project project comprises 69 Siemens Gamesa SG 11.0-200 DD turbines.
It is expected to deliver at least 3.3TWh annually, equivalent to 2.8% of the country’s electricity demand.
