Offshore energy contractor Deme is working with Greek renewables developer Faria to target the Mediterranean country’s nascent offshore wind sector.
The pair plan to assess Greece’s maritime area and identify optimal sites for offshore wind farm development.
Signing of the cooperation agreement comes a month after state-owned exploration company Hellenic Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management identified 25 sites that could provide the launchpad for Greece’s offshore wind sector. Together, they could host at least 12.4GW of capacity, with floating platforms needed to support most of this buildout.
