Italian industrial group Alerion Clean Power has agreed to acquire the permitted 35MW Foel Trawsnant project – its first wind farm in the UK.
To date, it has been developed by Pennant Walters at a site near Maesteg, Neath Port Talbot in south Wales.
The value of the investment, including the project’s purchase cost, is estimated at approximately €55m.
Italian industrial group Alerion set up its UK and Ireland business last summer. The Foel Trawsnant wind farm is “the first of a number of renewable projects” that it plans to develop in the UK and Ireland, said Luis Rodriguez, the head of Alerion UK and Ireland.
The acquisition is expected to close by the first half of 2024.
