Blackstone Infrastructure Partners has invested a further $1 billion in Invenergy to support the US renewable energy developer’s business expansion.
Invenergy president Jim Murphy said the investment would help to “accelerate execution of our existing project portfolio and our new business initiatives”.
Blackstone’s backing is in addition to a $3 billion investment it made in Invenergy in 2022.
The infrastructure investor holds a stake in private developer Invenergy alongside Canadian pension fund CDPQ.
Invenergy has helped to develop more than 30GW of operational energy projects, including onshore wind and solar, and is currently developing its first offshore wind farms off the US.
