Tata Steel's renewable energy arm will develop a 966MW wind and solar project to help power its parent company's steelmaking activities in India.
The project – which will include 587MW of wind power capacity and 379MW of solar PV capacity – will be developed by Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL).
Tata Steel said it would invest 26% equity in the project. It has not confirmed who will invest the remainder.
It has also not confirmed where the project will be uilt.
The hybrid “round-the-clock” solar and wind farm is due to be commissioned by 1 June, 2025.
Tata Steel said the project would mean that a significant portion of its operations would subsequently be powered with renewable energy.
