Nordex’s Q1 wind turbine intake falls to 1GW

German manufacturer Nordex received just over 1GW in turbine orders in the first quarter of 2023, with the capacity contracted down 12% from one year ago.

Its 1,021MW in firm orders came from eight countries – all of which were in Europe – with Estonia, Germany and Lithuania the largest individual markets.

The turbine maker sold its machines at an average price of €900,000/MW in the first quarter of 2023 – up 15% from the first quarter of 2022.

Like other manufacturers, Nordex raised its turbine prices last year amid cost inflation and rising interest rates, and has previously argued this will have a positive impact on the company.
