GE Renewable Energy has secured a deal to supply 133MW of wind turbines to Spanish oil and gas major Repsol’s 860MW Delta II complex in Aragon.
Delta II is Repsol’s largest renewable energy project currently under construction in Spain.
GE is due to supply 22 of its turbines with power ratings of 6.1MW — the largest turbines it has installed in Spain – for several wind farms within the Delta II complex.
It plans to manufacture both the towers and blades for the turbines in Spain, with the blades supplied by its subsidiary LM Wind Power. The nacelles will be manufactured in Salzbergen, Germany.
It is as-yet unclear when construction is due to start, or when the wind farms are due to be commissioned.
GE Renewable Energy has 4.8GW of operational wind turbines installed in Spain, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç.
