GE to build New York plants if Haliade-X offshore wind turbine patent ‘work-around’ nets sufficient orders

GE is proposing two new offshore wind facilities in New York to build blades and nacelles for its recently unveiled next-generation Haliade-X, which it says does not infringe the intellectual property of Siemens Gamesa. The manufacturing plants are part of bids for New York’s third offshore wind tender.
