RWE Supply and Trading has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with 12 customers for 1,500 gigawatt hours of energy per year from two of its German wind farms.
The developer said it had signed agreements with 11 industrial customers and one municipal utility to sell energy from its Nordsee Ost and adjacent Amrumbank West offshore wind farms.
The customers include: Badische Stahlwerke, Freudenberg group, Infraserv Höchst, Mainova, Messer, Schott, Telefónica, Verallia, Vodafone, Wacker and ZF.
Contracts will run for ten years, from 2025 or 2026, and will take the form of direct purchase, scheduled delivery, or baseload delivery, depending on customer requirements.
Following an earlier PPA agreement with German national rail company Deutsche Bahn, RWE said 95% of the electricity generated by the two wind farms had now been sold under contract.
