Developers have been on something of a Christmas shopping spree, with over 400MW of turbine purchase agreements being reported from Scandinavia, Spain and Turkey.
In Finland, Siemens Gamesa and OX2 have agreed a deal for the 145MW Niinimäki project, where 22 SG 6.6-170 turbines will be installed. Commissioning is scheduled for late 2024, after which Siemens Gamesa will provide service for 35 years.
In Sweden, Vestas received an order for 13 V150-4.5 MW turbines, for an undisclosed 59MW project in the south of the country. It includes supply, installation and commissioning, as well as a 35-year service agreement. Delivery and installation is planned for the second quarter of 2024, with commissioning scheduled for Q3 2024.
In Spain, Siemens Gamesa has agreed to supply 10 SG 5.0-145 turbines to Capital Energy, for the 52MW La Herrada project in Albacete, Castile-La Mancha. They will each provide 5.2MW. Commissioning is scheduled for the first half of 2024, after which Siemens Gamesa will also provide maintenance services for 20 years.
And Norvento Enerxia placed a 62MW order with Vestas, for several projects in Galicia. The contract includes the supply and installation of 13 of the manufacturer's V150-4.5 MW turbines and a V136-3.45 MW turbine, with delivery scheduled by the third quarter of 2023, after which Vestas will also provide long-term service.
Meanwhile, in Turkey, Nordex has agreed to supply 22 N163/6.X turbines to Eksim Yatirim Holding, for the Geyve and Silivri extension projects. The 50MW Geyve will be extended by 98MW with the addition of 14 N163/6.X turbines, while the extension of the 63MW Silivri will see eight turbines added, bringing the total to 115MW. The extensions are expected to begin supplying the Turkish grid at the end of 2023 and in 2024, respectively, after which Nordex will also provide service for ten years.
The OEM also reported an order from Coca-Cola İçecek (CCI), for the supply and installation of one N133/4800 turbine. It will help to power CCI’s plant near Çorlu, Tekirdağ, Eastern Thrace. Installation is scheduled for 2023, after which Nordex will also provide service for 10 years.
