Permitting authorities in Scotland have given approval to more than 350MW of new wind power capacity, with Fred.Olsen Renewables and EDF Renewables set to build two new projects.
EDF Renewables has been given the go-ahead by the Scottish government, for its 256MW Clash Gour project.
The 48-turbine development is planned for a site in Moray, north-east Scotland.
Meanwhile, Fred. Olsen Renewables has been granted permitting approval for a 100MW extension to two existing wind farms in north-east Scotland with a combined capacity of 92MW.
Construction of the 100MW Rothes III project is anticipated to commence in 2026, with it becoming fully operational by 2027.
The 28-turbine extension to the existing wind farms in Moray would bring the total number of turbines at the site to 68. It originally comprised 22 turbines and was extended in 2012.
Elsewhere, RES has sold a 49.9MW project to SSE Renewables.
The 12-turbine, 49.9MW Aberarder project is planned for a site in Strathnairn, near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, adjacent to the 94MW Dunmaglass wind farm.
