US offshore wind developer Atlantic Shores names first CEO

Atlantic Shores has promoted its commercial and financial director Joris Veldhoven to become the US offshore wind developer’s first CEO.

Shell New Energies and EDF Renewables North America’s 50:50 joint venture Atlantic Shores is developing more than 5GW of offshore wind capacity off the coast of New York and New Jersey.

As the joint venture’s commercial and financial director, Veldhoven focused on developing the domestic supply chain, building local partnerships, creating economic benefits for the community at large, and helping to lead the company’s overall growth.

He had also previously worked as global wind supply chain manager for Shell New Energies’ wind division, as well as in various commercial roles with Shell.
