Danish renewables giant Ørsted has completed its acquisition of Ostwind’s French and German onshore wind and solar business.
It has bought 100% of the equity in Ostwind Erneuerbare Energien, Ostwindpark Rotmainquelle, Ostwind International and Ostwind Engineering from German holding company Ostwind.
The move marks Ørsted’s entry into French and German onshore renewables.
Ostwind was founded in 1992 and has developed more than 1GW of operational projects and is building 152MW of wind and solar projects in France and Germany. All of the operational capacity is wind, and all but 4MW of the under-construction projects is wind.
It also has 526MW in advanced development and 1GW in earlier stages of development. Most of this late-stage development capacity is onshore wind, while the 1GW early-stage development pipeline is all wind.
Ostwind has a team of 115 people spread across nine offices in France and Germany.
