The Jüchen A 44n wind farm, in Germany, is to be dismantled and a new wind farm built on the same site due to structural defects identified in the towers.
One of the turbines was shut down in August 2021 when damage to the tower was detected.
The remaining five were shut down as a precautionary measure shortly afterwards and the entire wind farm has been out of operation for months. It is hoped to grid-connect the new 27MW wind farm in 2023.
