Uniper and E.on have signed memoranda of understanding with EverWind, regarding the purchase of one million tonnes of green ammonia a year, sourced from the under development Point Tupper green hydrogen and ammonia plant in Nova Scotia.
Initially, it would be powered by green power from the Nova Scotia grid and onshore wind. Further phases would be powered by offshore wind.
It is unclear how much wind power capacity would be used to power the electrolysers to make green hydrogen, and then – with the addition of nitrogen – green ammonia.
