First power at subsidy-free 1.5GW Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm

Turbines have delivered first power to the grid from the 1.5GW Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm in the Dutch North SSea.

The project is currently under construction and is due to consist of 140 of Siemens Gamesa’s SG 11.0-200 DD turbines.

So far, 36 turbines have been installed.

It is owned by Vattenfall (50.5%), German insurers Allianz (25.2%) and chemicals giant BASF (24.3%)

Hollandse Kust Zuid is expected to be fully operational in 2023.
