Nordex to supply N163/5.X with taller hybrid towers to Finnish site

The Nordex Group will supply 25 N163/5.X turbines to a consortium comprising energy utility Helen and Ålandsbanken Wind Power Fund for the 147.5MW Karahka wind farm in Finland.

The Karahka wind farm will be built in North Ostrobothnia, around 40km east of the Gulf of Bothnia.

Nordex plans to use an in-house designed concrete-and-steel hybrid tower with a hub height of 168 metres for the first time.

Under the contract, Nordex will service the turbines for 35 years.

Turbine supply and installation start are scheduled for spring 2024.
