Following early discussions with local community councils, Banks Renewables has scaled back its plans for the onshore Bodinglee Wind Farm by reducing the boundary to the southeast of the site.
The proposed wind farm, set to sit on the south east of Douglas in South Lanarkshire, has a potential capacity of over 280MW.
In December 2020, “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç reported that Bodinglee Wind Farm would comprise 60 turbines with a potential capacity of 300MW. Latest reports show that 40 turbines, with a total capacity of 280MW, are due to be built.
Online and in-person consultations for the Bodinglee Wind Farm proposal will start from next week to discuss the developer’s proposals, which will be presented to the community later in the year.
After the consultations, Bodinglee Wind Farm will go through the design and permitting process, with construction to begin between 2026 and 2028, subject to planning approvals.
Banks Renewables aims to have the wind farm operational by 2029.
