GE is due to build a wind-solar hybrid project in Turkey, by adding a 30MW solar array next to an existing 32MW wind farm.
Alongside local partner Inogen, it will build the solar project next to the 32MW Sertavul wind farm near Mersin on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast.
The wind farm and solar array will share the same grid infrastructure.
GE explained that the project will use the compatibility of wind and solar, which have greater outputs at different times of the day.
