2021 was a record year for offshore wind activity, according to the G+ Global Offshore Wind Health and Safety Organisation, with 32 million hours worked at member sites across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific last year - up almost 30% on the previous year.
The number of recordable injuries was just 106, the second lowest on record, added the organisation's 2021 Incident Data Report.
Total recordable injury rate and lost time injury frequency were down (16% and 11% respectively) for the second year running, although first aid injuries and an increase in the number of incidents involving emergency response evacuations and dropped objects are areas of concern, G+ said.
