Two wind farms with a combined capacity of nearly 400MW have been fully commissioned in Saskatchewan, more than doubling the operational wind capacity in the province.
Developer Potentia Renewables has completed its 200MW Golden South wind farm, which consists of 40 of Goldwind’s GW155-4200kW turbines and ten of its GW136-4200kW turbines.
It had secured a contract to supply power from the project to utility SaskPower in October 2018.
Meanwhile, Algonquin Power has also brought its 177MW Blue Hill wind farm online.
The project consists of 35 of Siemens Gamesa’s SG 5.0-145 turbines.
Together, the two wind farms’ combined 377MW of capacity bring Saskatchewan’s cumulative operational wind capacity to 628MW, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç.
