Danish manufacturer announces two large turbine supply and installation deals in Brazil and Argentina

Danish manufacturer Vestas will supply 112 of its V150-4.5MW turbines for two wind farms in South America

Vestas has announced orders to supply more than 500MW of turbines to onshore wind farms in Brazil and Argentina.

It is due to supply and install 94 of its V150-4.5MW turbines at Argentinian oil and gas firm Pan American Energy’s 423MW Novo Horizonte wind farm in Bahia, north-east Brazil.

Turbine delivery and project commissioning are planned for 2024.

The Danish manufacturer is also due to supply and install 18 of its V150-4.5MW turbines at aluminium smelter Aluar Aluminio Argentino’s {{Aluar IV-2f1eda88-aabe-25f5-433b-20ab69ceddc0}} wind farm in Chubut, south Argentina. The project is part of a wind complex, consisiting of four wind farms.

The 246MW Aluar wind complex is due to provide renewable electricity for Aluar’s aluminium smelting activities in Puerto Madryn, Chubut.

Turbine delivery is planned for the fourth quarter of 2022 ahead of expected project commissioning in the third quarter of 2023.

Vestas is due to service turbines at both wind farms for 20 years.
