Wind turbine maker Vestas invests in Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ bioenergy fund

Danish wind turbine maker Vestas has backed compatriot Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ (CIP’s) new bioenergy fund.

CIP raised €375 million in the first close on its CI Advanced Bioenergy Fund I. It eventually aims to raise €1 billion in the fund.

The fund will focus on equity investments in advanced bioenergy infrastructure in Europe and North America, including feedstock, production technologies and offtake markets.

Alongside Vestas, large institutional investors from Denmark (PensionDanmark and Industriens Pension) and Sweden (Andra AP-fonden and Fjärde AP-fonden) also made capital commitments to the fund.
