Polish oil refiner Orlen is contemplating expanding its footprint in Lithuania’s energy sector, including investments in onshore and offshore wind, green hydrogen and small modular reactors.
It plans to take part in the country’s upcoming auction for 700MW in the Baltic Sea.
Orlen is also looking into developing 57MW of onshore wind capacity near its oil refinery in Mažeikiai in the north-west of the country.
CEO Daniel Obajtek presented the company's plans for Lithuania in a meeting with prime minister Ingrida Šimonytė.
