Valorem has placed an order with Nordex, for 57 of the manufacturer’s N163/5.X turbines for two Finnish projects: the  165MW Kalistanneva and 148.5MW Matkussaari wind farms

Forming the larger Viiatti development in the Ostrobothnia region, they will comprise 30 and 27 turbines, respectively. The wind farms are due online in 2024.

The cold climate version turbines will each have a maximum output of 5.5MW. They are due for delivery and installation in 2024, after which Nordex will provide service for 35 years.

The 165MW Kalistanneva was recently sold by Valorem, to a Helen-Bank of Åland consortium. AIP Management, meanwhile, is co-financing the 148.5MW Matkussaari, in partnership with Valorem.

Once operational, the wind farms will be able to generate the equivalent of 1.2% of Finland’s annual electricity consumption.

Nordex has installed more than 750MW of onshore wind turbines in Finland, and is in line to supply a further 1.4GW, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç.
