Vestas picks up 500MW of wind turbine orders in Australia

Danish manufacturer set to add to its Australian footprint with large turbine orders from Tilt Renewables and RES

Vestas will supply 66 of its V162-6.2MW wind turbines from its EnVentus platform, operating in 6.0MW mode for Rye Park

Vestas has received two turbine orders in Australia, for wind farms with a combined capacity of more than 500MW.

It will supply its EnVentus turbines to Tilt Renewables’ 396MW Rye Park wind farm in New South Wales and its V150-4.2MW turbines to RES’ 180MW Dulacca wind farm in Queensland. In each case, Vestas will also provide service for 30 years.

The orders add to Vestas’ footprint in Australia, where it has supplied more than 3.5GW of turbines to operational wind farms, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç.

Vestas will supply 66 of its V162-6.2MW turbines in 6.0MW mode to Rye Park. Delivery is expected to take place in Q3 2022, ahead of commissioning in Q2 2023.

The project has been developed by Tilt Renewables, which is now part of Australian renewable energy generator Powering Australian Renewables (Powar).

Vestas will also supply 43 V150-4.2MW turbines to RES’ Dulacca project, with delivery also expected to take place in Q3 2022 ahead of commissioning in Q2 2023.
