From 2017, he took over as CEO of Siemens Engines 鈥 formerly Guascor Power based in Zumaia and Spain 鈥 leading the rebranding of the company.

Throughout this time, McGrail held vice-chair of the Association of Decentralised Energy and served as chair of the association from 2016 to 2019. He also set up the Heat Network Industry Council to lobby politicians and drive policy reform to build zero-carbon heat networks.

鈥淗e will be an outstanding CEO; he鈥檚 a creative entrepreneur with an exceptionally strong track record on bringing the industrial benefits of wind energy to the UK at scale,鈥 McNeal said in a statement.
