Vestas in line to supply mystery mega-project in Latin America

If confirmed, Vestas' latest Latin American deal would push its order book in the region over the 5GW mark

Vestas has previously supplied 5.3GW of turbines for operational onshore wind farms in Latin America

Vestas is in line to supply an unspecified 500MW-plus onshore project in Latin America.

The manufacturer has not provided further details about the conditional agreement but stated that it plans to share more information 鈥渋f and when the project translates into a firm and unconditional order鈥.

A spokesman confirmed that the order was not for an offshore wind farm.

Developers in Latin America frequently build large onshore wind complexes or clusters divided into several smaller wind farms. The order could be for such a project.

Vestas has a further 4.5GW of recorded orders in Latin America, excluding the latest order, according to 搖錢樹娛樂城 Intelligence, the research and data division of 搖錢樹娛樂城.

It has previously supplied 5.3GW of turbines for operational onshore wind farms in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
